7 Card Stud Hi/Lo

This is a mix of normal 7 Card Stud and Omaha Hi/Lo but I will explain it quickly.

The game is played the same as 7 Card Stud but as with Omaha Hi/Lo there are two winning hands, high and low. An ace can count as high or low and the same qualifying procedure is used as before, cards 8 or lower and not pairs are accepted.

Again it is possible to hold the best of both hands, Ace to 5 of the same suit being the best.

If no-one qualifies for the low hand the high hand winner takes the whole pot, other than that it is shared with the between the high hand winner and low hand winner.

As with the normal 7 Card Stud though this game can be expensive, more so in fact. If you stay in with a 2, 4 and 7 of different suits and end up betting high limit hoping for low cards to win the low hand you will end up risking a lot of money. This hand could win you the low hand but with very low odds of getting a hand to win the high hand you are risking a lot of money to win half a pot.

Next we will look at Draw Poker which is the first I was ever taught to play and some may remember is probably the most popular type of poker used as strip poker.
